Re: PG>35 Weekly Check-In: 07/01/10

  • Hello everyone!! Hope you all had a great week!  Sorry the post is late today, I actually spent the morning at the doctor's office and had no way to get online.  On Monday of this week I had my regular OB appointment, during which I took the 1 hr glucose test.  Well, yesterday I learned my numbers were elevated just enough that I had to go back today for the 3 hr.  Yuck.  I also found out I am still anemic even though I've been taking an iron supplement since the beginning of my pregnancy, so now I have to take the iron pill twice a day.  I'm hoping that maybe it will help with my always feeling so tired.

Other than that the appointment went well.  Since I am traveling the next two weeks (first for work, then for vacation) she did an internal exam and confirmed everything is still closed up tight.  I also found out I hadn't gained any weight at all!  So in total I have only gained 6 lbs this whole pregnancy, which is freaking me out a little.  I asked her if she was concerned and she said no as long as I am eating and not sick or anything, which I AM eating and I am NOT sick.  In fact, I feel like I eat constantly and I sure feel heavier every day.  I don't know what's going on - I wish I had this much difficulty gaining weight when not pregnant!

Anyway, that is it for my week.  Had a really awful week of work but I am choosing not to think about it.  I have the day off tomorrow and Monday and although I will have to do some work during the weekend, I am going to do my best to just enjoy the break.  I hope everyone has a great 4th of July holiday!!

  • My due date is supposed to be 8/12 but I am going to be a July mom.   I'm in the hospital now on bedrest for pre-eclampsia.  My BP is ok now that I'm on bed rest so I guess it's not technically pre-e anymore.  However, they won't let me leave until I have the baby- the goal is at least July 15th.  Then it will be day to day so probably between July 15-20th is a real birth date for me now.  I'll update when she arrives!

3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

Can you update me? Still 9/22, but a surprise!  Had a bad visit with my doc, still "discussing" having to do NST every week just because I am AMA.  I discussed with HR, and I will not have the vacation time.  So in 2 weeks going back to the doctor and saying "no"  to NST, unless he can give me a better reason.  Man, I feel so old and crotchety when I say or think about it.

  • hi we are team green!  i'm so proud we stayed strong.  after an initial scare for a echogenic foci, a 2nd anatomy u/s showed it to be nothing to worry about, we are finally getting excited!  feeling good, minus heartburn and my sciatic nerve.  hope everyone else is well.

  • Happy 4th of July everyone!

I have six days until my due date and as of this morning I am closed up tight with no dialation at all. I know it doesn't mean much, but it is still disappointing. I feel good though, better than I did at 34-35 weeks.. maybe because I know that the wait is 'almost over'. I see the doc again on my due date and we will talk about induction between 41 and 42 weeks. I have an extremely hands off OB so I have not had an ultrasound since 22 weeks. Makes me a little nervous! Accepting all forms of labor dust. Have a good weekend everyone!

  • I had my regular OB appointment on Wednesday, and as I suspected, my doctor wasn't happy about my blood sugar levels. She told me and my DH that if my numbers weren't good when we go back next Thursday, she's putting me on medicine. She also told us to start thinking about options on delivering these little girls. So, we have alot to do and so little time to do it in. I have to work this weekend, so no real celebrating for us. I hope that everyone does have a Happy 4th of July!!!

  • Ok so to sum up my week...

Monday, saw OB for Back/Rib pain...found out I have fractured some ribs, got some meds and am now able to sleep, I don't take the vicodin during the day, want to take the least amount!

Wed, did 3 hr glucose test.

Thurs, Saw OB, had NST good results, passed 3hr glucose.  OB wants to see me weekly.  Next week we will do a final determination of placenta placement and decide how to proceed from there.  @ 31 weeks baby was measuring 5lbs 1oz, so they are concerned at how big this lil guy is.  Going to make a list for next appt about different concerns depending on the u/s.  Just stuff like are we going to avoid a c-section, will we induce if baby is large.  What other things can I expect for the remainder of this pregnancy. etc...

Sat is my last day of work, not because I am going on leave, but because I am not on the schedule.  Going to talk to HR on Monday/Tuesday to see if it is OK that I just go on leave now since there are no hours for me, or what. My OB is willing to put me on disability a little early due to preterm labor issues, which is why I am getting all the NSTs, so...

I really don't think I am going to make it to my due date based on this baby's size and how he is basically out of room, but I am OK with that.  DS came @ 38 weeks and he was 8lbs 5oz and he had a 14" head!

I do see the peri in a couple of weeks too so he is also going to do another anatomy scan for size and placenta placement.

Ug... well my meds are kicking in and I am getting drowsy!  Good night and I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!!

  • Hi All!

Happy 4th of July!  Sorry, I haven't posted in a while, but all seems ok.  Although i'm beyond exhausted being 26wks pregnant with twins and with a 1yr old in the house.  My last u/s was 2 wks ago where baby A was getting "squeezed" by baby B.  I feel baby B all the time, but poor little baby A is in a corner, in the back and I don't feel him as well, although he is doing just fine. Last u/s had great HB's for both and both were the same size.  Next u/s is in 2 wks, will advise more details then.

    Take care ...  :o)

  • HI.

I'm new. I'm due with my 3rd on Dec 21. We will be finding out girl or boy on August 3rd. I already have 1 boy and 1 girl. This was a big surprise to find out I was pregnant.....more like a shock!

Looking forward to spending some time around here.

    Thanks.

    Kelly

  • Happy belated 4th of July everybody! It's been uneventful for me except for the fact that my 3 year old "watered" my laptop from a water bottle his dad left open on a table. So I can't post from home anymore.

  • Hi,

I'm very late to this check-in.  Last week was extremely hectic for us.  My 2-year old had his upper endoscopy on Tuesday which confirmed that he DOES have Celiac Disease.  We're very relieved to get this diagnosis and were so happy to be able to start him on a gluten-free diet right away.  We've been even happier to see how well he's been responding to it-- honestly, within one day, he was already a different kid, personality-wise.  Not so tired, much more cheerful, and much more active.  It's AMAZING.  Now, DH and I have to be tested to see which one of us (could be both) are carrying the gene for Celiac.  We're betting it's him.

So, things are better with DC #1.  We still have a long road ahead-- he's got to gain back a good chunk of weight and he needs to get B12 shots every week for a month to build up his B12 levels.  We're also giving him extra Vitamin D to build up his low D levels.  Most exhausting was clearing out the kitchen of all gluten or gluten-contaminated items.  Now, I've moved onto the bathroom.

In any case, Baby #2 seems to be doing fine.  I've been so neglectful of him/her the past month-- so focused on DS.  But, just had 28 week appt. and 1-hr glucose test and all seems to be good!

Hope everyone is staying cool in this ridiculous heat wave!
