Front facing is not recommended because the weight of your LO is hanging off the front of you, so it's not as comfortable. Also, there is no way for your LO to "escape" if they become overstimulated.

I do front facing in the ring sling all the time (kangaroo carry)-- LO hates chest to chest carries. I'm not worrying about the comfort for me, I am wondering if it's okay for her spine.
I used to do it with DD all the time and she LOVED it. Never for an extended period of time. It's easy enough just to take them out & turn them around if needed.

I think as long as LO's knees are higher than her butt, it is ok.
If you do it so she is sitting sort of cross legged (so sitting in the pouch of the wrap and not with her legs hanging down) then it is ok. You always want the carrier to support out to the knees and the knees to be higher than the bum. So this particular carry really won't work with bigger babies as it would be very hard to get them seated cross legged facing forward.
Adding...the bjorn is bad because it doesn't offer support to the knees - baby ends up dangling by her crotch. Doing a similar position in the moby would be bad as well.

See, now it totally makes me sad I did this with DD in the Moby. I wish I had known better.
in the moby though, because it's flexible, you can pull the baby into more of a seated position, even if the legs are hanging out.
And with a bigger baby, you can pull their legs through the cross straps, cross them on the outside, the pull the pouch/waistband up to hold their legs into a crossed position.

Don't feel bad mama! The huge number of carriers on the market that put baby in this position market it as "safe" - so blame them!
