Muzzy? Or similar program?

Has anyone tried or know anything about the Muzzy language learning program. My first language was French but I'm quickly losing it since moving away from my parents 5 years ago (and not having lived in Belgium since I was 4!).

I meant to speak to the girls in French...but I rarely do. Now when I do to DD1, she gets really mad that she doesn't understand :( I feel like I'm really letting them down by not at least trying to teach them what I know.

I really wish there was a French preschool in our area to help reinforce it.. but sadly it's about an hour drive. I was thinking just playing DD's regular DVDs in French if that's an option, but I thought maybe a program to help me teach her would work better...

I can't believe I'm asking this ;) But if anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it! FWIW, I used to be a teacher.. and an ELL one at that! So I know all about HOW, I'm just struggling w/ actually speaking it w/ my girls and would love something that helped get us started and that DD would enjoy..something to make it easier on me ;) I saw the program is $200 which I'm fine w/ paying...if it's a cute thing DD would like to watch, and it's worth it. Thanks :)

Re: Muzzy? Or similar program?

  • We have the Little Pim dvd set in Hebrew and love it.  DH grew up in Israel and his parents bought it for dd.  I am not sure about how it compares to Muzzy or other programs since I don't think Hebrew is available anywhere else.  FWIW, my Italian teacher in high school used to show us the Muzzy videos that he used for his daughters.  I guess he thought they were good and he was a teacher.
