anyone make their own homemade cleaners?

I make all-purpose cleaners from white vinegar, water, and lemon juice; it is also an excellent disinfectant. But I need a good way of cleaning wood, b/c my all-purpose cleaner "streaks" my wooden furniture =/ Any ideas?

Re: anyone make their own homemade cleaners?

  • I have a bunch of homemade cleaner recipes.  Here's one for furniture polish:

    Lemon Oil Furniture Polish

    ?          1 cup olive oil

    ?          1/3 cup lemon juice

    ?          1 clean 16-ounce spray bottle

    1.  Combine the oil and lemon juice in spray bottle.  Shake well.

    2.  Apply a small amount to a soft flannel cloth and apply evenly over the wood surface.

    3.  Use a clean, dry flannel cloth to buff and polish.

  • Oh thank you so much!!! I kept googling for furniture polish, and it kept saying "use olive oil". But this sounds alot better :)

  • I want to say Martha Stewart (or one of her affiliates) had an entire article on this...you may be able to search the archives! :) So cool that you do this!
