the only two times I got KU using fertility treatments were both through IVF.
I never had a lap, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have endo. But we'll never know. I skipped the lap b/c we had insurance money (limited amount) and if we were endo we'd have to do IVF anyway so why waste our limited resources?
Moving to IVF was the best decision I ever made. I wish I had done it sooner.

thanks! We are considering IVF in the fall. For now, we have no IVF coverage and 100% coverage for IUI's. I need to talk to RE about transfer and retreival costs since I have meds and monitoring covered.
Hi Lina! I actually think the lap played a part in our success (so far). Endo can interfere with implantation and I think that is why, despite having 2 great embryos last time, we didn't have success.
I don't want to encourage you to have surgery or anything like that, but if you've ever suspected endometriosis, I'd recommend discussing it with your Dr. prior to putting any $$$ into IVF.
I also took wheatgrass pills and DHEA pills for 3 months to increase egg quality. There is limited research on this but some girls (including myself) on the IF board swear by it. I also saw improvement in # of eggs and quality after dosing with the two pills. Ask your Dr. before beginning a dosing regimen
I did two IUIs before moving on to IVF. ?We tried two IVFs that didn't work after that. ?I decided to take an IVF break for a few months, but at the last minute we decided to do IUIs while waiting for our next try at IVF. ?The first IUI I did after the second IVF ended up working!

Good luck!!!!
I did 3 rounds of IUI with no success (I had a chemical pregnancy on IUI #2)
IVF #1 is what did the trick for us.
Sorry it's not what you want to hear, but the only BFPs I've gotten were from my IVF cycles. (See my siggy for info.)
Good luck hon
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
