cleaning car seat ?

I am trying to wash DS's car seat cover.  We have a Britax Boulevard.  I cannot figure out how to get the cover through the straps.  You can wash the cover, right?

    We have all Britax seats, and I wash our covers once a month. I haven't had any trouble getting the covers off or washing them. I wash on cold/delicate and hang dry.

    Just remember that you can't wash the straps.

    So how do I get the cover through the shoulder straps? Why I can't I figure this out?  I am sure it is so simple.

    We have a Britax Marathon.  If it's anything like the Boulevard, you have to detach the straps from a metal clip at the back of the seat, then thread the straps through the cover.  It's pretty easy and Britax has instructions online.

    We wash our cover every few months.  It goes through the dryer on low just fine.
