Prepping new GroBaby CDs?

Hi mamas. Ok, so I've Googled how to prep GroBaby CDs and found that most sites say to wash and dry them 5x in warm water. Here's my question- do I need to wash the covers and liners/soakers 5x, or can I get away with washing the covers once and the liners/soakers 5x? And do I need to use detergent in every load?

I'm also prepping a bunch of Thirsties Duo Wraps & prefolds, so any tips on the best prep methods for those would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Danielle

ETA: Does drying in the dryer help increase absorbency, or is line-drying equally efficient? Thx!

Re: Prepping new GroBaby CDs?

  • PFs and GroBaby soakers can go together 5 x wash/dry on warm or hot. Covers only need one wash. And yes, use detergent, but you don't need the full amount since they're not dirty. Dry all your covers in the dryer once to reseal the PUL from the sewing process and after that line drying is better with the occasional dry time in the dryer.

Wow, that was exactly the info I was looking for! Thank you Big Smile
