NPR: Verizon customers - what phones should we get?

Ironic, isn't it, that I just posted about not answering the phone? Stick out tongue

DH is thinking of getting a data plan for his line, but I will stick with a voice plan. Should DH get an LG Ally (latest android phone)? Or should he go with the blackberry Pearl Flip smartphone (although I don't think he would like the keyboard)?

Any other suggestions?

NOT THE ERIS!!!  Omg!!  I am on my 3rd one of this stupid phone. Have also had 2 replacement batteries.  Its battery life after charging all night long (full charge) is about 8hrs of non use while Im at work.  It also does some screwy things, seems a bit sluggish when opening apps, the phone, camera, messages etc.  Gets confused if you push the wrong button and then push the right one so you have to wait for it to figure itself out.  (if that makes sense)

My dh has the Motorola Droid and has never had any problems and LOVES it.  I so wish I would have gotten it but the Eris is/was suposed to be "the little sister" to the Droid.  Same idea and basic functions in a smaller, sleeker more girly case.

If this one (that I JUST got about 2 hrs ago in the mail) screws up Im going to either drop my line and go with a different company (after many hours on the phone with customer service this seems to be the only other option, they wont allow me to get a different phone...just a new Eris.  They all do the same thing...they all screw up.) or seriously beg them to give me a different phone after having 3 of these.

I would stick with Droid....they seem to be good stuff although I dont know anything about the Ally.  There is also one called the Incredible.

  • I liked my Blackberry Curve till I had numerous issues with it and then said sayonara.  I can't imagine anything liking the Pearl Flip.  Ew.

I just got a Palm Pre and I'm in love.  Right now, Verizon is offering the mobile hot spot feature, for free, as long as you own the phone.  Basically, you have the ability to use it as a wireless modem.

I has a large touch screen AND slide out QWERTY keyboard.  I've only had it a few days but I love love LOVE it!!
