So no more Elena Kagans, no more Donna Shalalas, no more Martina
Navratilovas, no more k.d. langs, no more Constance McMillens?because all
women must grow up to suck ***, crank out babies, and do women's work.
And the existence of adult women who are not interested in "becoming
someone's wife" and "making babies" constitutes a medical emergency
that requires women who are currently pregnant to be treated with an
experimental hormone. Otherwise their daughters could grow up to, um,
be nominated to sit on the Supreme Court, serve as cabinet secretaries,
take 18 Grand Slam singles titles, win Grammies, or take their
girlfriends to prom.
That is truly stupid. And they could have used the time and money into finding out how to cure something that really makes a difference. That stuff pisses me off.
Completely ignoring what the point of posting this was, I don't understand why a pregnant woman would put her unborn child and herself at risk for who knows what from an experimental treatment.
I could see an experimental treatment for something that you or your child could die from. To me, this is like getting shot up with something to make sure your kid will be 6 feet tall, blonde, and blue eyes.
I don't understand people refusing to read the article because the idea is trash. Willful ignorance is what allows doctors to peddle this crappola. The doctor's a quack, but I am having a hard time understanding the decision to shove one's head in the sand as an appropriate response.
Re: This makes me sick
Holy crap.
this is truly a W.T.F.!!!
is that legal? ethical?

Dude:
She's also trying to prevent the births of girls who display an "abnormal" disinterest in babies, don't want to play with girls' toys or become mothers, and whose "career preferences" are deemed to "masculine."
So how exactly is he targeting this lesbianism?
Like, say, a female doctor?
Way to set feminism back 100 years.

The article is written by Dan Savage, a fabulous writer and author of "The Kid." The article is fine, the doctor it is about is frightening.
