We don't have a middle name yet...but we narrowed it down to two. I wanted to get some advice since we're not telling any of our friends/family the name until its born.
I love the name Aiden, but it is just so popular right now. If that doesn't bother you, then go for it. Ryder is NMS, but it is ok. I can't picture the name Ryder on an 80 year old man lol.
Ryder! It's in my top 3 for boys names..we'll never be able to use it though because it doesn't go well with Bentley. I know 2 Ryders and about 15 Aidens.

This! I just can't see a "Ryder" being a lawyer or doctor or something. But I do love the name Aiden, even if it is popular!
Ryder is nmsaa. I love Aiden, but it's becoming SO popular (but I have an Olivia, so who am I to talk). So, Aiden gets my vote, if I had to choose between the two.
Aiden is fine, just way too trendy for me. Ryder is nms at all. I know 1 little boy (5 yo) named Ryder. Every time I hear his name I hear "ride her". Maybe that's because I try to think of ways a name can be used to torment on the playground. (As a teacher, I've seen that happen way too often.)
If forced to choose between these two, Aiden is my choice.

Yeah, exactly this without being a teacher. The first thing that came to mind was a tricycle. It sounds like you're setting your kid up to be a bad boy with a name like that.
Now if you want to do Aiden Ryder it might not be bad.

Anything, anything at all except Aiden! Ugh. So overly trendy and I hate the misspelling of Aiden. If you must use it, go with Aidan at least. Between Aiden and Aiden, it's the top boy name on the SS charts.
Aidan rather than Aiden, but I prefer Ryder...only because I know a little boy with that name who is adorable. Otherwise I probably would have said neither.
I think both are nice but Aiden is way to popular. I think its funny people use the argument saying they can't see a Dr. or a Lawyer having that name. I think if you actually look at the graduating class of Harvard or Cornell this year and scroll through first names I guarantee they aren't all Ethans and Williams! I had some pretty outrageous Dr names and that never stopped me from seeing them if they had good credentials.

Most people here are clearly big fans of the classics, and I am too. But I married a "bad boy" (rides motorcycles, works with his hands) and I was a bit of a "bad girl" so Ryder works for us. I think it's a cute name for a kid and sexy & strong for a man. I could never see myself with a kid with an overly plain or traditional name. If my child doesn't want to be a lawyer or doctor I think I will survive too. Or hey, he could always go by just the first initial and his middle name: Dr. R. Jackson F____. Is that pretentious enough to pass a credential test? lol
I agree with many PP, Aiden is so popular. I LOVE it though. If popularity is not an issue, I'd go with that. That being said, I also love Ryder. Sorry I'm no help here!!
Re: Aiden or Ryder???
Same.

And yes, Aidan is super popular right now.
