The sucky thing is, if I've already seen the movie, it is REALLY hard for me to get into the book. I have given away books because of this... granted, that one I wasn't particularly fond of the movie... although I do love Kevin Spacey... but I see I digress...

Almost universally, if I read a book and then see a movie, I'm totally disappointed in the movie. Books can get you into the characters way better. Twilight is probably the worst I've seen of this. If I was basing things on the movie, I would never have touched the books.

I don't think movies do books justice even though they are enjoyable to watch. And my imagination is scarier than any commercials for scary movies out there. And I can't watch scary movies!
That is too hard. I love reading a good book, but I just don't have the time. I read the Twilight saga in about a week. I couldn't pull myself away and I was worthless to my family. It was awful!

Books are ALWAYS better IMO. I've never liked the movie better than the book with one exception - I really disliked Atonement (the novel), but I liked the movie. Also, I make a point to read the book BEFORE I see the movie because the movie will ruin the book for me.
With the exception of Pride & Prejudice (love the Keira Knightley version and pretty much any other version), I always prefer the books - Twilight, Harry Potter, Sookie Stackhouse, Time Traveler's Wife, etc.
Books. Books are life to me. I never leave the house without one in my purse or car. I'll re-read books so often I have to get new copies b/c pages fall out and are missing.
you know how lots of people on here crafts tons and we're all envious and try to figure out how they do it, but they say they don't have time to read? books are my crafting. It's Wednesday and I'm mid-way through my second book of the week. I don't craft to escape, I read. characters are my best friends. and e-books just don't cut it for me. I want to smell the binding glue, I want to touch the pages and feel the different textures, i want them lined up prettily on my book case so I can know they're there whenever I want them.
Books, hands down. The only movies that I've really thought stood up to the books I've loved are Mystic River & High Fidelity (and I say this not just as John Cusack's super secret girlfriend. The screenplay adaptation is just THAT good).
