DD is still in hers. We will keep her in it until she outgrows it. We considered moving DS into them (when the time comes), but we have girly covers, so we will keep DD in them. I have no doubt that DD will be able to use them until they expire. She "maybe" weighs 24/25 lbs.
The reason I am asking, is because I bought a Britax 50 at Target for $49 on clearance, it was made in Feb 2010.
I plan to use it for my Godson (should be born soon!) when I am caring for him and transporting him, to leave it in my car. I would love to use it for my own LO when we have one, which hopefully will be at some point in 2011.
I was wondering how old kids are in general when they outgrow the seat because it would be AWESOME if I could just buy this ONE and not have to get another down the road. Of course I can't know for sure, but I had wanted to get an idea.
The new seats sound great and I will be looking forward to seeing them and how they work out for people. Maybe I will end up with one of those eventually. Who knows!
Re: Britax question
DD is still in hers, but she's only 11 months. She could honestly still be in her baby seat for 2 more inches in height.
I just wanted to say that Britax is coming out with a new line of carseats in August that will go up to 70 lbs forward facing and 40 lbs rear facing.
Here's an article about the new seats:
