wwyd about high chair?

Ok I posted a few days ago that alot of our baby items had mold on them from our shed.  I tossed out our cover for the high chair because the high chair was on of the items that got mold on it and the cover had 2 small holes at the seem.  I was worried mold got inside the cover and if it did not then it soon would once the baby was here and I started washing it.

This is the chair we have https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2401114

How much of a pain would this be if I bought it https://www.etsy.com/listing/49794064/custom-peg-perego-prima-pappa-high-chair

If that would be to much of a pain then I will call Peg Perego to see how much a new cover would be but how much would the max be that you would spend for the new cover?

Im used to wiping down the whole chair after meals then every 2-3 days I took it out side and removed the cover to wash the whole chair and cover with vinger and water.

  • If I was doing it all over again, I would get a trip-trap. I know this doesn't answer your question, but that high chair looks so big and bulky and I hated food getting trapped in the corners. I would spend $15-25 max for a new cover.

It is big and bulky but folded up pretty flat and was very easy to do.  Thats my main thing I need the high chair to fold up when not in use and be pretty flat.  Maybe I will just toss it and buy a new high chair.  I think peg wants over $60 for the cover but not sure.  I asked when dd was still using it but she stoped using it 2 days after I called.

That's a lot for a new cover. You could buy a new high chair for a little more than that. Maybe wait a bit and think about it. You won't need a high chair for awhile.

  • I wouldn't pay much.

I got our Fisher Price Space Saver high chair for $50. It reclines for an infant and goes all the way up to a booster, straps to a regular chair, and isn't huge and bulky like a standard high chair.

  • I would just get a less expensive compact high chair.  $50 seems like a lot spend on a high chair cover, to me at least.  We got a compact one that straps to a dining room chair and can be a high chair with a tray, a booster, or a back less booster and is adjustable to several height settings for less than $30.

This is the one we have.  It works great.  I don't know why it got crappy reviews, it's been great for us.

  • If I were to do it over I would get this one

Got two for a gift for a friend having twins and they use them a ton, they were their only high chairs.  My mom has one that we started using when the kids were 5-6 months.

  • Why buy a new cover? And why buy a new highchair? Can't you just use the highchair without a cover? How would that be any different than the chairs that are sold without covers like the ikea ones and some of the space saver kind?

FWIW, my hand me down high chair does have a cover, but it's fabric so it's filthy as soon as it's used one time. So I just use the highchair without a cover. It's not pretty, but who cares?
