tell me about your ER recovery

I have my ER tomorrow morning and took the day off but I'm wondering how you felt by the next day. I have a somewhat active job and am planning to dive right in on thursday.

I know it's different for everyone. So, I'm just curious about a general consensus.  And as of yesterday I had 6 mature follicles and a bunch (10+) right behind them. I didn't get my E2 level because I'm trying to obsess less this cycle than I have in the past.

Thanks!

lap 9/09= mild endo & PCO (but not S) SA= normal IUI #1-#4= BFN IUI #5 cancelled- too many follies IVF #1 = BFP

Re: tell me about your ER recovery

  • Like you said, it all depends on the person but I know I felt a little crampy for a few days after but nothing terrible.  Could you take Thursday off too if need be?

  • I had a client meeting that I couldn't reschedule (I had already reschedule before due to not knowing when my ER would be).  So I went and did the meeting the day after my ER.

I was fine, but still just a bit tired.  I don't produce a lot of eggs, so it was probably a bit easier for me.  I did go home and rest after my client meeting.

    Good luck tomorrow.

  • I got really sick from the meds right afterwards and I had to stay in recovery for a long time. But after that I did not have any cramping or anything. I even went to work the next day! GL.

I'm a Pilates instructor and only get paid when I teach and since we're oop I'm really trying to keep as regular of a schedule as possible. But if I really wasn't feeling up to it I could.

  • I was off the day of and the day after. They day of I just went home and slept and laid around. I was a little tender for a few days, but I really just stayed home on the second day for my mental state, not my physical one!

  • I was lucky that mine fell on a Friday, so I was home for the weekend; but I honestly dont remember being in much pain the day after. In fact, I went shopping with my mom for a bit. I did walk a little slower than usual and only lasted for about an hour, but I don't recall being miserable (just bloated and crampy). I would try and play it by ear, if I were you. Everyone responds differently.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you! GL!!

  • My ER recovery was quick.  I did take the next day off to relax, since I was at high risk of OHSS.  I had 50 follicle retrieved.

  • I had a large number of eggs retrieved and developed a bit of OHSS so I felt pretty crappy, but I did go to work the next day and have a pretty active job in a hospital. I remember walking really slow and felt like I had a watermelon in my belly and some cramps, but it was do-able.
