On June 19th, Saturday I was beginning to feel very uncomfortable, for the first time during my pregnancy. I was tired and kinda feeling out of sorts, so I stayed around the house and rested. I started to have contractions but there were coming and going so nothing I could time.
Early Sunday morning, around 4 am, I got up to go to the bathroom and I noticed a little pinkish/brownish spotting and I was having more contractions regulary. I fell back asleep and got up around 6, I had a card for DH for Father's Day I had forgot to fill out so I got up and filled it out.
Contractions were coming harder and closer together. DH woke up and I told him to go ahead and call the dr. They told me to go ahead and come in. We live about 45 minutes away from the hospital so I got dressed and ready and packed up some last minute things like cell phone chargers, etc.
We got to the hospital around 8:30 and I was examined I was dilated 2 cm and 90% effaced. The dr. on call said that he could go ahead and do the c-section in a hour so I went to pre-op while DH called our parents.
At 11:00 I went in, got a spinal block, and they got started. Landon was born at 11:21 am!
I had to be in recovery for about a hour and then I was moved into a regular room and I finally got to hold Landon.
I am glad things happened like they did. I wanted to wait and let my body go into labor and then have a c-section instead of just having a c-section (Weird I know) but things worked out perfectly!
Re: My Labor Story
It's so cool that he was born on father's day. And I totally understand why you wanted to be in labor to have the c-section...like he was ready to come out to the world. I'm glad things work out perfectly for you.
What a perfect Father's Day! I'm glad that things worked out the way they were supposed to. Thanks for sharing!
