Mallory has proven time and time again that she can STTN. Her best is bed at 8 and wake at 5 AM to eat. A few weeks ago she was waking up with a cry that told me she was in pain...teething. That passed and although we have no teeth yet, she seems happier. The past 4-5 nights though she's waking up early -- like 1 or 2 AM crying. Not that pained cry. Just standing in her crib yelling. We lay her down with her paci. Makes her mad. We let her cry for 10 minutes. Finally falls asleep and the freaking power goes out minutes later. I had to sneak into her room and reset her white noise and monitor and she woke again. Ugh. She then fussed off and on another hour. At this point I gave up and decided if nursing her would put her back to sleep I'd do it. It worked and she slept from 3-7:15 without waking. So ultimately I still only fed her once...it was just earlier then normal. I look at the situation and think that at 9 months she should be able to go longer then 8-2 without eating and she's done it before. On the other hand I feel awful that she was just hungry and I made her fuss for awhile before feeding her. I'm worried that I might be rewarding her by feeding her and we're starting a baad habit. I am not sure what to do? She'd been eating alot during the day so maybe she was growth spurting and was really hungry last night? She didn't eat much at dinner tonight though so maybe she's back to "normal" tonight? I don't know what I'm looking for in this post but I guess I just needed to vent about it. I'm sleepy. If you read all of that, thanks.
DD is on her way to 2!

Re: Sleep help please
I know my daughter is younger than yours, but I am going through the same thing. I read all these other posts about babies STTN and my baby just doesn't do that. She will usually go 4-5 hours at the beginning of the night, then up to nurse, then back down for anywhere from 1-3 hrs, then up, repeat. Some nights it is only 1 waking, others it is every hour.
I don't know how much I should nurse her, or whether she needs it because she is hungry or just looking for comfort. DH has a hard time putting her down in those situations- it can take 1 hr or more. But we don't want to CIO for now.
Luckily, I am only working PT. I know you are FT. That is very very difficult. I hope it gets better for you.
