Baby Names

Need a mn for Lily...

DH and I are pretty set on Lily for our little girl but haven't come up with a middle name.  I kind of wanted it to be a one syllable name because I'll actually use her mn and not just when I'm mad. (I call DD Abby Rae all the time.)  DH likes Lily Jean, but I don't think it's that pretty, I like Lily Rose but DH thinks it's too flowery plus Rose is my mn so it might be tacky.  I also like Lily Christine even though it's not one syllable.  So what do you ladies like?  What are your mn suggestions?  Thanks!

  • Again this is not one syllable but my DD is Lily Sophia.

That's ok!  I may have to give up the one syllable and just go with whatever DH and I both like.

  • Just don't name her Lily Rose.

Lily  . . . Jean, Anne, Kay, May, Raine, Sue, Joan, Brooke, Grace, Claire, Paige, Faith, Jade, Kate, Reese, Rice, Hope, Brynn, Jane, Sage, Elle, Sky, Maeve, Eve, Joy, Joyce, Tess, Bea, Belle, Beth, Fern, Blair, Kate, Blanche, Brie, Faye, Wren, Shae, Rue, Jill, June, Lark, Lise, Maeve, Ruth, Star  . . . LOL, Lily Star, like the boat!

Mind you, I don't like all of these, but that's all the single-syllable names I can think of at the moment.

  • How about Lily Grace?
  • My cat is named Lily Mae. I think it's cute, but it's really close to Abby Rae.

I like Lily Christine a lot.

I actually really like Lily Jean too, but it rhymes with Billie Jean (a la Michael Jackson), which I don't know if I'd go with...

Ha ha!  Lily Jean was starting to grow on me since a couple others said they liked it and now I'm singing the song with Lily Jean in it!  And having second thoughts...
