Anyone else get a false positive RPR? I am getting more blood work done this week, but I could have an autoimmune problem. The doctor had me start taking a baby aspirin a day until we know for sure. Kind of annoyed and worried...
If so, my mom had a false positive. Yes, they said my 60 year old mother had this. She was not happy at the implication! She had to have all these other tests that came back normal. It was a false positive for her, so hopefully will be for you too.
I'm not PG but I have had a false positive RPR which is associated with autoimmune disease. I had ANA level checked and it was 1:40 (anything less than 1:160 represents a non-specific response). Your doctor will most likely check your ANA level and if you have symptoms suggestive of an autoimmune disease they will refer you to a Rheumatologist for further evaluation and treatment.
I had my RPR rechecked a year later and it was negative. Plus, I had no symptoms suggestive of a possible autoimmune disorder.
I know how scared you must be since your pregnant so I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

What is RPR?
I had a false positive of an autoimmune disorder. It was my ANA that came back with a false positive. I'm still taking a baby aspirin daily.
