If you scrapbook- I need some help

So I am finally going to start putting Cora's baby book together. I'm wondering what is good for sticking pictures on the pages? What about gluing stuff like her wristband from the hospital and other random shaped stuff? Are there pens and markers that you recommend for writing with that won't bleed? Thanks for your help.

  • I'm so out of practice with this stuff but pulled it out and started working on it last weekend. I have sticky double sided tape that comes out kind of like white out. I prefer that for pictures. I also have double sided little pieces of foam that raise things up slightly that I like. I think that would work good for the braclet and other random things.

For pens/markers, I have a set of acid free colored pens. I think I got them where all the scrap booking stuff was a few years ago. They still work great.

GL!! When you figure your book out, please post and share your ideas. I literally got stumped after doing one page and stopped.

I'm an insane scrapbooker/crafter - I've been scrapbooking for years and have tons of supplies. Look for acid free things and those specific to scrapbooking and preserving memories. You don't want anything to ruin your pictures, etc.  I use tape runner to stick my pictures down. There are different kinds and different levels of adhesive (permanent, etc).  Make sure you use acid free markers/pens, also, those good for scrapbooking.  If you have any other questions or need product recommendations, let me know!

  • My preference is the little corner sticky things.  They are clear corners that stick to the page and then you slide your pic into them so nothing sticky touches the actual picture and you can remove them if needed.

  • I think they're called Zots or something.  They come in a box and are in a little roll.  They are clear sticky circles (like double sided tape).

  • I use acid free glue sticks for all paper gluing. Nothing holds better (well, rubber cement is awesome and I got hooked on using it for design work in college, but had to give it up with pg because of fumes and I never looked back). For thicker items (like ribbon and the hospital bracelet) I use either Tacky Glue or decorative brads to hold them. I buy whatever pens/markers strike my fancy while I'm at the scrapbook/craft store. I have several of the Martha Stewart pens and a few Galaxy Markers that I like. Those are pretty much all I use, but it's because I don't have much else and I'm happy with them. I have a few gel pens that I use for writing on dark papers.

  • I use a tape runner from creative memories. You can order one from there site I think they are relatively reasonable. Plus they are easy to use and if you end up sticking something some where you didn't mean to you can take it off the page and start again.
