I don't have the Bumbo, I have a Bebepod.....& well, S has been supervised sitting in it for weeks now. She does pretty well now but occasionally gets the slouch going on, LOL!
I recommend it, especially if you've got a coupon!!
It was another very limited use (time frame wise) for us. Alexa could escape from it so we probably used it for less then 2 months. I got it along with the tray for $7 at a garage sale though so for me I still got my moneys worth.
I had the Bebe Pod. It came with a tray that had a detachable toy on it. It came in handy lots of times. I could put C in it in the kitchen and she would play for awhile so I could get dinner ready. We would also put it on the dining room table and let her sit with us when we were having dinner.
It was also portable enough that we could take it with us to restaurants and we would either put it on the table or on a chair and she could be a part of the meal. (You just have to keep close supervision.)
This was also the first chair that we used to feed her in before we set up her high chair.
All in all, I think C liked it and it was worth our money. We got it at a store closing sale so I think we got it for a pretty good price.
I am with Wendy. This is another one of those annoying purchases for us. She will sit in it for a while but it is annoying to store and it is big bulky. Not worth the cash, IMO.
I was just about to say the same thing Sara did. I actually liked the Bumbo and Kash liked sitting in it. He was just too chubby! I had to squeeze his legs in and out of it and it would leave red marks on them.
I have a friend that has a little girl and uses it all the time. She puts her in it and on her island while she cooks every night. She even takes it to restaurants and puts her on the table. She loves it.
I see it as a convenient place to set the baby if you don't have enough of those but after hearing the pediatric physical therapist that we took Baby E to go off about how bad the bumbo is for baby's hips and how it is counter productive for teaching them to sit because of the way the pelvis is positioned in the chair, I won't be getting one!

I didn't get one because I remembered Morgan talking about them being bad. I practice her sitting on the floor and I have plenty of places for her to hang out if I need both hands so I haven't missed it.

I read the same thing in the Baby Bargains book. Someone bought it for us at my shower, but I took it back and got my $30 back...I couldn't believe how much $ the cashier handed me-I would not have paid that much for it!!!
Re: Bumbo users come in
I liked it but I would always forget about it.
Anderson always wanted to sit up and play and the Bumbo was helpful for it. He had pretty good head control early on so it wasn't a problem.
We also didn't get a high chair right away and used it to feed him.
I say if you have a coupon use it...if not don't worry about it.
