stupid question re: pureeing food

I just made sweet potatoes for the first time and cut them, boiled them, and then used my immersion blender to puree them.  As I was putting them in ice cube trays.. there were a few lumps.. I ended up trying to squish them with my fingers... making a huge mess and feeling silly, but could she choke on them? I just wonder if I should just buy baby food just to be safe?

Re: stupid question re: pureeing food

  • I wouldn't worry too much about it.. if you're putting it in ice cube trays the lumps can't be that big? plus, when you thaw the cubes, warm and stir before feeding you'd notice and could just mash with a fork before giving them to your LO

That's what I do.  I just mash the lumps or pick them out later.  It's not like he eats a whole serving anyway, it just ends up all over his face and hands.
