I am overly confused by this name. I know TWO women who have named their little girls this recently. I had never heard it before this! Am I the only one who hates this name? Everyone I talk to about it seems to think that it is "super cute for a little girl." WDYT?

I think this came about because of Sailor Moon, which is some kind of manga/comic/anime series. All I really know is that it features some blond girl named Sailor Moon and was really popular for a number of years. I'm sure that's likely the origins.

I dont know how it originated, but i def know a woman who is in her late 20s- early 30's named Sailor.. way before the cartoon..

I think its a cutesy name that ages poorly IMO

The spelling is strange to me and makes me think nautical. I think it it was spelled differently, I wouldn't mind it as much. Sayler maybe? I know the y thing etc, but it looks better that way to me.

I don't like Sailor any more than I would like Soldier. I think the name your friends were looking for was Taylor.
