learning to roll = hard night for all! *vent*

Every time I would put them down last night, one or both would roll to their tummy and then get mad that they were on their tummy. It wouldn't be so bad if they would just roll but no, they plow forward with their faces on the ground/crib and run into the sides of the crib and make themselves really mad. I think 3 hours is the most sleep I got in a row, and we had been sleeping 8 hrs/3hrs or 11 hrs straight. Oh my, I hope they grow out of that! Did you do anything to help them to sleep once they started rolling?

  • Right there with you.  We're still in the middle of this nightmare and not much has helped.  :(

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • That was hard.  Ava was able to get comfortable sooner than Sofia on her stomach.  And it wasn't long after they started rolling onto their bellies that they figured out how to roll to their backs.  Since then, all they have done is sleep on their bellies or their backs for the most part.  I didn't do anything.  Just let them figure it out on their own.

  • Would a sleep positioner help?  Once my boys rolled, they were happy campers because they love sleeping on their tummy.  GL, hope it passes soon.  It took them about a week to learn to roll from their belly to their back.
  • I'm hoping they'll figure out the belly to back part soon! That will make things easier :) We were at a friends house last night and had put them on blankets on the floor in the extra room. It got to the point when we started taking guesses as to where we'd find Parker when we went in the room! I couldn't believe how much they were moving! Pack 'n' plays are a must from now on!!
  • We didn't do anything to stop them once they started.    It sucks for a week or two but then they just either learn to sleep on their stomach or realize they can roll back.  We let them cry for a little bit and if they couldn't calm themselves, we would go in and flip them back over and soothe them.  DS still goes through it when we first put him down but once they are asleep, they go through the night now even after they flip.

  • LOL, I went thru this same thing a few weeks ago.  They'd roll to their tummy and then cry. Oh and they also now won't sleep unless they are on the tummy's now, the crying stopped a few days after they probably realized it's comfortable on the tummy & now they cry when on their back.  They are all over their cribs, I always find DS w/ his head smashed in the corner of the crib & his arm or leg hanging out.  DD sleeps sideways.

Basically like I said mine got use to their tummies about 3-4 days after they started rolling on them at night time.  So hopefully your's will adjust and learn to like it.

    Good luck.
