We had to put DS on soy because he had diarrhea for about 5 + weeks. The soy worked and I also cut dairy out of my diet. I started eating dairy again last week to see what happened, and he hasn't had a problem when nursing so I wanted to try taking him off of the soy formula and putting him back on regular.
I am not sure what I should switch to. Have any of you done this transition? What formula did you use? He is currently on Earth's Best Organic Soy, Previously he was on Similac Advance. I was thinking of trying Similac Sensitive or Similac Organic..
Re: Soy to regular formula, has anyone tried switching?
We switched at 6 months back to normal formula per pedi. "Most" infants outgrow any milk sensitivity by that time. I mixed one scoop regular to two scoops soy (she eats 6oz at a time) for a few days, then 2 scoops regular one scoop soy until the soy was gone ( a week ). She didnt notice the change, and nor did her system. She did poop more, but soy is the most constipating formula so that makes sense. Her constipation went away 100% with the change to normal formula.
We use Sams club brand formula, there really isnt a difference in the different brands besides organic and not organic. So use whatever brand you are comfortable with.
