clomid experiences come on in (and temping question)

I start my first cycle of clomid and TI next cycle.    Feeling a little nervous after reading the product monograph.  How has everyone's experiences on clomid been?  Side effects?

Also, is there any point to temping while on clomid?

Everyone responds differently to it.  I started off at 100 mg and noticed the s/e immediately.  The biggest things for me were the night sweats, moodiness and headaches.  I took it for 5 months and it got progressively worse each month. 

I stopped temping as soon as I started meds.  I have strange sleep patterns on my own, but with the night sweats it was all out of whack. 

What dosage are you starting at?  Good luck!

With 50mg I just had a few minor hot flashes. On 100mg the hot flashes weren't so bad, but I had headaches. I temped my first 2 cycles of Clomid just because I wanted to know how it was affecting my body, but really it's pointless if you're being monitored.

I was on 50 mg. last cycle and I really had no noticeable side effects.  I ended up with a BFP but then a c/p, so I have a feeling I'll end up staying on 50 mg. this cycle as well.  I'm not sure though and probably won't know until tomorrow.

I was very thankful for my lack of s/e, but I know many women end up with the hot flashes and headaches.  GL to you!

I have done Clomid for five months.  The biggest side effect I have had is hot flashes.  It's so weird to be sitting in the air conditioning and have a sudden hot flash!  I haven't done temps, but I have done a fertility monitor that I got on ebay.  It works well to tell me when I ovulate.  You have to buy sticks to use with it and they are pretty expensive.  I tend to ovulate between the 14th and 16th day when I take Clomid.  Without clomid, I don't ovulate.  My husband and I are trying our first round of IUI this week since we haven't had luck on just the clomid.  How long have you been ttc?

I just finished my first Clomid cycle.  I took 100mg and had no s/e, for which I was thankful.  I did take it at night, so it is possible I simply slept through them.

Thanks everyone.  I start on 50 mg.  We've been TTC since April 09.  RE "suspects" DOR and wants to try a few cycles of clomid before moving straight to IVF.  I'm hoping a little bit of clomid is all I need.  Don't think I'll temp given that I am being monitored.

I just did 50 this past month. It wasn't awful. The worst part were really bad headaches. I did get hot flashes, but after the first day I learned to take it right before bed and slept through it. The first night I took it earlier and got awful hot flashes and the worst were the chills that followed. I took a hot shower and was laying in bed freezing and had to put sweats, a sweatshirt and layer on the covers. I had cramping pretty much from CD3 when I started it up until now, CD23. I never cramp, so that's pretty irritating to get used to. I did find a neat tylenol with a sweet coating so I can take that easier now.

I took my first round last cycle of 100 mg w/no s/e. However, I took mine at night to minimize them. I did notice by the last day I took it, I was little more moody than usual.

This cycle is morning than likely a bust

We will be doing our first IUI this cycle and I plan on doing another round of clomid (100 mg) .

I took my Clomid at night at the RE rec'd.  I got hot flashes at night and headaches during the day while taking the pills.

I temped my first month on Clomid but didn't have that.  Since I was being monitored by my RE I realized that temping wasn't really necessary.

I did three cycle of Clomid. 50mg-noticed nothing, 50mg-totally BSC, moods all over the place, 150mg-nothing. Through every cycle I had insatiable thirst. I drank a ton of water and was lucky enough to avoid the Clomid headaches that some talk about.

I charted through all three cycles too (and continue to). While I was taking Clomid my temps were a little all over, but leveled off when I stopped taking the meds. I find temping helps me feel a little in control, when in reality I'm not in control of anything.
