when to switch to 2nd foods

At what age / stage did everyone switch to 2nd foods?

DS is sitting un-supported, has tried and liked all of 1st foods. He eats 1/4c oatmeal and 1 container 1st foods 2x/day.

Re: when to switch to 2nd foods

  • I think their ready.  My pedi said I could start my LO on both 1 and 2 stage foods.  But he is really relaxed on when to introduce foods expect for dairy.  So go figure!  She has survived with no injuries so far.  Big Smile

  • I'm pretty sure the stage 2 is just a larger portion size. It's the stage 3 that is a little chunkier.
  • Yep, the consistency is the same as stage 1 but the containers are bigger and cost the same as stage 1.

This is what the doctor told me, too. She told me to just buy stage 2 because it would be cheaper.
