I'm almost POSITIVE DS does not have whooping cough. He doesn't have that familiar "barking" sound when he coughs. But the poor little guy woke himself up around 4am coughing his head off. He's had a cold for a few days, but it was mostly just his nose. So I suctioned his nose out, thinking maybe it's draining into his throat, and gave him some apple juice. I bought a plug in Vick's thing the other day and turned on his humidifier. Any other suggestions? I hope he gets back to sleep.
Re: Poor DS
This has happened to DS a few times too.. there are a couple more things you can do to help your LO breathe better while sleeping. You can buy salt water nasal drops at any pharmacy. They are 100% natural and really help clear out LO's nasal passages to let them sleep.
You can also get a crib wedge (they are like $10 at babies r us) or use a pillow under your babys mattress to keep his head elevated. That will keep all the yucky stuff from sitting in his head with no where to go while he sleeps
