Hi ladies. Popping in from the Pregnant after 35 board (and hope to be joining you soon). I need some advice and hope you can assist. My sister in law is throwing a shower for me for her side of the family & my friends. Between shower gifts and the bags and boxes of hand-me-downs from our other friends, I'm fairly well stocked on the baby essentials (clothes, stroller, bottles, pump, infant seats, etc.). My family has offered to throw me a shower about 7 weeks after the baby is born. I would have to drive a little ways to them, so they thought this would be a good time to meet the baby. There are going to be quite a few people attending and they've asked where I've registered. My dilemma is that there isn't much left on my registry list. Any suggestions for items that would be helpful to add for when baby is 6-12+ months old? (BTW--Already have the high chair and carriers too...).
Thanks!
Re: help registering for baby meet 'n greet
Hi there! Welcome, congrats and looking forward to seeing you soon!
Here are my suggestions:
Diapers
Baby Gate
Jumperoo
Diapers
Convertible Seat
Diapers
Jogging Stroller
Diapers
Did I mention diapers?:)
Redwood City! I lived there for a while!
Hrm...
A bouncer or Jumper is good stuff... Maybe a humidifier, if it'll be winter... hrm...
A playmat for the floor, or babyproofing supplies?
Good luck!
Hi! and congrats!
-diapers
-baby food (you may be able to start by 6 months if your pedi is ok with it & check expiration dates)
-formula (if you're not breastfeeding)
-park
-12 month old clothes
-DVD player for the car (great for long trips)
If you've got the basics, go for TOYS and BOOKS! Some toys that we've really enjoyed are: lamaze mirror, lamaze hanging animals (moose and firefly are dd's favs, but we have 4-5. Even though she doesn't play on her play mat any more these are still great alone or on the stroller), winkel, sofie, stacking toy (we have the very hungry caterpillar - doesn't stand well on it's own, but the rings are soft and she loves it), links - we have 3 sets and all get used, rattles - plastic and wooden are all loved here.
I'm sure some of the mommies of older babies can add to this list.
We did books for my shower and it was great - such a variety and so many that I never would have known about! The "Indestructibles" are great and so far they've lived up to their name - they were great for tummy time and now DD just plays away. Also, the fabric books are a huge fav of hers as well and not something I would have gotten.
As far as basics, I agree with the pp and would add the aden and anais blankets which DD loves and wash clothes - like the diapers, diapers, diapers, we go through 4-5 a day now that she's eating solids, and that's not including baths!
GL!
Keep in mind return policies. Be careful with clothes & seasons. If you aren't sure of an item, you're better off keeping it off the list. I registered for an extra carseat base $75, & we never used it. Luckily my DH was able to persuade them to take it back.
Great stuff...books, diapers, toys, music, all stuff pp's added.
I'd say ditto on books and appropriate DVDs. Can't have enough of that stuff and they are probably things you don't have too much of yet.
Also, larger sized clothes, as long as it's seasonally appropriate.
Jumperoo
Baby Gates
If you are using an infant carrier type car seat in the beginning I would consider registering for their second car seat (for when they outgrow the carrier).
Interactive toys and books.
