My family offered to buy G and I tickets to come home and visit for a few days in August. Of course, I'd love to see them. But, DH isn't too sure about the idea. It's not that he's controlling and doesn't want me to go; it's that he can be a worrier and doesn't like the idea of me traveling alone with G. When I brought it up to him, he said, "I don't know....if something were to happen and I wasn't there...." I understand it's a small chance it would happen, but I also don't want to stress him out. Not sure what I should do.... WWYD?
i would go. DH hardly ever goes home with me. If something happens you have your family there with you and dh could come up. But chances are nothing is going to happen and your trip would be uneventful.
I would go, hands down. No bigger chance of something happening to you guys then vs you driving G to go shopping or something with DH. And it isn't just like a random vacation - it is to see your family and give them a chance to see G also.

I agree with the above.
Nothing wrong with him being protective but what is he anticipating going wrong? I think it is sweet he is worried about this.
Maybe have him help you come up with a travel plan for taking a toddler along to ease his mind.
Definitely go. I traveled home to see my parents with Bells starting at 2 months and then at least once a month by plane and it wasn't bad at all. She actually loved the plane. Also it''s not like you are going to some random place, you are going someplace where you have family to meet you on the other side once you get there. People at the airport are super helpful to moms with babies as well.
PS if you do decide to go let me know if you need any help on what to bring for the plane ride (we have perfected it over the years)
Definitely go to see your family. On the really off chance something should happen, you'll have your family there with you to take care of things until dh can come. You shouldn't pass up this opportunity on a "what-if".

This is a great statement. I think that you should live life whenever possible. If we always let fear or the possibility that something could go wrong rule us then you wouldn't do anything ever!
Go home, see family and have a great time.

Thanks, ladies. I know I should... We're working on the details right now. Turns out, the tickets I've found are between $400-500, more than my family was expecting. And, we just found out DH's BFF isn't doing well back home - he's battling some depression issues and is in the hospital as a result of way too much drinking.... Long story. So, DH is debating whether he should make a trip home now to try and talk some sense into him. Decisions, decisions....
Re: WWYD in this situation
I think it's important that you see your family, you should go.
I NEVER traveled before I met DH. Last winter I took my 1st flight without him and I was 600x more anxious than I ever imagined I could be

I agree with everyone else....but I am a very independent person. He sounds sweet and means well, but that would drive me nuts!
Go see your family, it will be ok!
