Anyone make homemade plums

I bought some plums this week to make for LO, I was searching online how to make them and it sounds similar to making like a peach, I had a bad experience making peaches the first time so thought I would ask here first. How do you make yours?

Also maybe a dumb question but I don't eat plums, do they have a pit?

Re: Anyone make homemade plums

  • They do have a pit.  We just had a bunch of fresh ones and DD LOVED them (in the mesh bag feeder due to the pit).

  • We haven't done plums yet, but we did homemade peaches that came out nicely.  I peeled the peaches and then cut them off the pit in chunks to steam.  I made apricots, which have more of a plum consistency, by making an x on both sides of them, putting 4 of them in a pan with water and cooking until tender.  I then peeled them, which was sort of a pain, so I imagine that doing homemade plums might be a little messy, too.  With both the peaches and apricots, ds found them a bit too tart on their own, so they mostly are eaten mixed with other sweeter fruits like bananas, pears, apples, or blueberries.  I imagine pears and plums mixed would be very yummy.

I hope this helps!  If not, try wholesomebabyfood or nurturebaby websites.  They have good easy recipes for fruit.
