Baby Names

What name for NN Ty?

I'm almost 35 weeks with NO idea what we're naming this little man.  I heard the name Ty and liked it as a NN, but I'm not totally sold on Tyler or Tyson.  Anyone have any other ideas for names?

I'd like it to sound good with our other kids names....  Girl - Jentry, Boy - Mason, Boy - Drew.  Something manly and tough.

Any suggestions would be great!  Also, any suggestions other than Ty that go with our other names would be AWESOME!

Re: What name for NN Ty?

  • I absolutely love the name Mason!! That will probably be our LO's name if we are suprised and she turns out to be a boy! Eli (by itself or short for Elijah) is kind of similar to Ty, and that's another fav of mine...

  • Tyler and Tyson are the big ones, but here's a few others:

Tyrek, Tyrese, Tylan, Tynan, Tytus, Tyron...that's all I could find that could be shortened to Ty

  • There is also Tyrone. :)
  • Tyrell?

I agree. Tyler and Tyson are the only two I can think of that don't sounds made up.

I like Ty, and I think it can stand alone as a name. I would pair it with a longer mn though, like Alexander or Nathaniel.

  • Boy names I like that go with your other kids names:

Chase (or you could name him Tyler Chase which is really cute!)

    Evan

    Emmorey

    Gaige

    Easton

    Jackson

William (Liam for a NN or even the name Liam)

    Maddox

  • Like pp, Tyrone or Tyrell. But I think you could just name him Ty if that's what he will be called.

    This.

Or Titus isn't bad.  I'm sure using Ty as a nn for it would be fine too.

    Good luck.

    Tyrell?

I know a Tyrell who goes by Ty. I also know a boy with Ty as his given name. FWIW, his middle name is Curtis (after his father's friend who passed).

  • I know a tyrone, It must be the name or whatever he eats but he knows all the presidents and states and capitals since he was 3years old. I went on a road trip with him, his mother and his father. The father yelled out trivia time and before I could even start thinking the kid blurted the correct answer(s) out. They even played trivia STREET names OMG he is so smart. His mother was the one who invited me and I was like how the heck does he know all this? (at the time he was THREE) She said just ask him questions over and over again.  I felt like an IDIOT sitting next to this 3 year old. (I was also like maybe 10-11 at the time)

  • My brother-in-laws name is Tylen and we all call him Ty. I LOVE it. He actually gets a fair amount of compliments on it too.
