Dr Appt Also

It is a popular day for the doctor apparently.

I was told I was going to have my strep test today by the resident last time I was there, but it turns out I have to wait a week and a half yet before having it done at clinical.  LIkely will also have my first internal too.

My blood pressure went up though this week.  He didn't give me the bottom number, but the top number was 150.  I got asked when I was done work, which was originally the 1st, but is now the 4th, and he didn't seem too happy.  He said he will let me work till the 4th, but when I see him on the 6th I can't be working anymore unless I can get my blood pressure down.  I am a little upset, even though I planned to be done the 1st, I really wanted to be able to think that if I wanted to, I could stay longer.  Apparently not so much.  I know it is best for the baby, I just am stubborn and wanted to decide not to work anymore.

I also get to see the baby again next week.  Since my stomach is measuring big, we get to do a size u/s next week, so I am kind of excited about that.

  • Teresa, Does he think that it is work related stress that is causing your blood pressure to go up?

Congrats on getting to see your baby again.

  • He didn't really say.  Mind you, my work has been extremely stressful this week.

  • That's exciting that you get to see the LO again.  I hope your blood pressure goes down.  You shouldn't feel bad about being done done so soon.  I'm starting to wish that I was done at this point.  I'm really starting to not feel like myself at work these days.  Take the early leave and relax!
  • Don't feel bad about leaving work if it's causing you so much stress! :) I hope your bp goes down soon.

  • I hope your BP goes down at your next visit.  I agree with pp--enjoy the time off work & relax!  (although I can totally relate to the frustration of it being dictated to you by your body rather than it being your own decision)
  • I agree with everyone else - just relax and enjoy your time off.

And from someone who has already been there, seriously, relax and enjoy every last second of your "me" time.  I know it's hard to really know how much your life is going to change, but it will.  (In a good way, of course!) But enjoy your time and get in all the extra naps you can!

  • I hope that your blood pressure goes down.  Enjoy your time off before the baby comes.  Do something nice for yourself, like get a pedicure!  Big Smile
