Ok, I think I'd like to end my Friday with a bit of a vent.
DH just started his new job today. It's 1.5 hours away. His plan is to stay there during the week and come home on the weekends. He is staying with an acquaintance from high school and upon arrival last night realized her house is a complete sty. He couldn't even make himself use the restroom because the toilet was so gross (he left and went to Target!).
So I told him that he should really ask his supervisor if he has any recommendations of places to stay and that hopefully from that he could find out if his new work compensates for travel or lodging expenses. I've actually been telling him this from day one, but since he found someone to stay with we let it go.
Well so he just calls me and I ask him if he's asked anyone and his answers were so "around the bush" that I'm just annoyed. Instead of going straight to his supervisor and seeing if he had any suggestions he asked some lady who "seems to have worked there for a while" From her he found out that they reimburse for gas
Ok, seriously that gets us pretty much no where. DH is so bad with this kind of stuff. He just asks the completely wrong questions and obviously the wrong people too! He said he's going to start keeping his gas receipts, but what about a place to stay and how does he even know who, when, or where to turn them in to?
Ok, deep breath, he's calling. i'll have to play nice now.
Grrr!
Re: Slightly Annoyed with DH
My DH used to be this way & then one day while I was pg it just clicked..he suddenly grew balls & learned to handle shiit on his own!
Don't get me wrong...he still has his moments! You just have to nudge them sometimes in the right direction sometimes! GL!
I have to admit I'm kind of like your husband in a way. It annoys the hell out of DH. Maybe he doesn't know how to fix the way he feels, and can't move past that?
I am that way because I'm kind of shy in real life, and don't like to hear 'bad' answers to my questions...I'm scared of rejection, I guess. It seems so illogical, but I have serious anxiety for things like going to daycares to remind them that we still need it for the end of the year, and try to convince them that they should choose our DS for their daycare rather than the 40 other kids on their list.
If you find something that helps him...seriously fill me in! haha.
My DH is similar. Hes way too laid back about things and sometimes needs to grow a pair. It annoys me too.
But thats pretty awesome that they reimburse for gas. Not many places would do that!
