To go with Ella...

We've chosen the name Ella for our baby if it's a girl.  I'm looking for a good middle name to go with that. Please consider that our last name is a common one-sylable name, beginning with an "S". I was thinking of using my middle name, Noelle. Does Ella Noelle sound weird because of the similarity?

I think it's pretty and works, but is a little sing-songy. But then again, she'll be going by Ella S. most of the time (like at school, etc). Not Ella Noelle S. If it's a middle name you really like, then I say go with it.

True. Another thought I had was that it looks like you're saying "Ella, no Elle" not that it makes a difference one way or another, just an observation.

If our baby is a girl she will be Ella Susan. Susan is for our mothers.

Um . . . I'm sorry to say Ella Noelle is cringe-worthy IMO. It sounds like a Dr.Suess rhyme.

I love Ella and Noelle separately, just not together. Both names are in my list If we go with Ella, we will be doing Ella Pearl.

I like Ella Grace as PP suggested.  I'm not a fan of Ella Noelle.

Edit:  Just thought of one more - Ella Paige.  LOVE it.
