Houston MoMs

Can you recommend your ob or MFM?

I am trying to make a decision between OGA West (Katy) or one of the MFM at HPA. wanted to ask if there were other options out there.

Re: Houston MoMs

  • I am using Dr. Sherri Levin.  I've only seen her once, but really liked her.

I'm interested to see who else is recommended...

Are you joining any of the MoMs clubs in the area?  I'm also in the Katy area...and due around the same time as you!

I was lurking and saw your post.

I started out pregnant with triplets and was sent straight to Dr. Hare at HPA.  I am still with her for a few other health reasons that kept me "high risk" and absolutely LOVE her.  She is wonderful and I recommend her to anyone I know in the area looking for an MFM.

  • One of my dear friends from residency is an ob/gyn at OGA West.  You will likely want to have both a regular OB and an MFM.  My MFM (my only doctor) works at Methodist.  He's fantastic.  I have heard great things about HPA as well.

    Congrats on your babies!!!

Congrats on your pregnancy. Thanks for the recommendation. We also live in Katy and not yet sure if i will officially join the MOms club. I will however be going to all the MOMs sales in the fall.

Thanks LCB, i got a recommendation for either Dr Hare or Dr Reiter. Did you always have to wait when you go in for appointments. I assume that that clinic will be very busy.

ETA: Wow, your little girl is almost here. Wishing you a safe delivery when that time comes.

Yes there is a wait.  But, I have learned when the best time to get an appointment is (first thing in the morning or right after her lunch break) to better control my wait time.

I have honestly never been upset about waiting b/c she is never rushed and takes all of my questions seriously - I can't expect her to give me that type of attention and then get mad about waiting and hour, you know?

My worst wait was yesterday and it was because of an emergency delivery ? so very out of the norm.

She does have an initial screening process as she only likes to take about 15 patients a month (these are her patients that she will deliver - not co-care with a delivering OB patients) so she can be at every delivery.

  • I had Dr. Eric Haufrect for my OB/GYN and Dr. Karolina Adam for my MFM.  I'd recommend both of them.  Dr. Haufrect treats all his twin pregnancies with a great deal of care, although he is kind of "old school," so you need to do your own research (and just being here is probably all you need).  He has privileges at Methodist, which was really nice.  Dr. Adam has kind of a gruff bedside manner, but she knows her stuff and is very cautious.
