Glass vs. Plastic Bottles

The bottle question below got me thinking. Do any of you gals use glass bottles vs. the plastic ones? I know they have rubber inserts so if you drop them they don't break which is kinda cool - but are they worth the cost? I worry about BPA but I know most bottles these days are really safe. Anyone care to share how they feel about glass vs. plastic?

Re: Glass vs. Plastic Bottles

  • I'm going with plastic, but I know that Krissie (MissMex) uses only glass.  She's a big fan.  Hopefully she'll see this and give you her take on them.

ETA: I'm using the Playtex Ventaire bottles.

  • We are doing plastic Playtex bottles.
  • I used glass ones when I nannied. I liked them except they clinked in the sink when I would wash them and I was always paranoid about waking baby, she was a light sleeper. also, for log feedings and in diaper bags they got heavy. The baby could not hold it herlself due to the weight, eventhough she could hold her sippy.

Other than those few things, I did like them.

  • I don't have any experience with glass but I have also heard that they are supposed to be more sanitary. Something about plastic gets tiny cracks that can harbor bacteria.
  • We use Playtex as well. Love em.

  • I used a bunch of different ones at the beginning, but Avent is what turned out to be my favorite and the only kind I use know. (Plastic)
