looks like DS is pretty allergic to mosquito bites and has a nice welt on his face from one! It looks awful but I looked on the kid's benadryl box and it says to not use under 2 yrs.
any ideas to help ease the reaction?
i just feel awful since I put bug spray every where except his face - lesson learned!
Re: mosquito bites
Calamine lotion is pretty much it until 2. I've also read that though mosquito bites look awful on babies, they don't react the way we do in terms of being itchy.
The mosquitos are really bad this year and DS's arms/legs/ and even face look awful. It doesn't seem to phase him.
Our pedi actually says its okay to give DD benadryl occasionally. When she was about 25lbs she could have 14 tsp. Now she weighs just over 30lbs and she can have 1tsp.
i'll have to try the calamine lotion since DS is a lightweight and still under 25 lbs. i'll have to give the pedi a call tomorrow to ask if there are is a benadryl dose he would be able to take.
ya, the mosquitoes suck this year!! i even put up a bat house in our yard hoping that might help but I don't think the bats like it or something
