Multiples

how annoying..

is the statement "I'm so glad I didn't have twins." (usually the person saying this also has a stupid smirk on their face as well, which is also annoying)

Im almost to the point where I am going to reply with, "Im glad you didn't either."

Twins are such a blessing, saying that to a woman carrying twins is rude, IMO.  Maybe I'm just hormonal.

Re: how annoying..

  • I usually say, "Really? I can't imagine only having one!" They can take that however they want (i.e., my life is so hectic that just one would be unimaginably peaceful, or I feel sorry for people who don't have multiples Stick out tongue) and it usually ends the topic.

  • People do say a lot of annoying things.  I have a friend who told me to stop at one and now tells me "Man your life is going to change."  (not in a positive way).  I just say, "I can't wait for these awesome changes - two more kids to love, etc."  I don't get it.

  • I've told someone that "not all people are cut out to be a MoM", that shut them up.

  • I'd say it!

I also like the "not all people are cut out for it" response.

Or my latest favorite mantra, "Singletons are for_pussies!" ;)
