Adoption

I'm a BM and spent the night in the Hospital at 34 weeks... :(

Last night I went to my mom and woke her up at 11 pm and we drove to the hospital because I started having contractions that were a lot more than BH. It turns out to have been caused by a UTI, and the swelling in my bladder caused pressure on everything else and I started having actual contractions. Baby girl is fine, her heart rate stayed nice and strong all night, and I managed to keep my blood pressure down... The ultrasound they performed showed that she's 5lbs 7oz approximately.

I had everything from fetal monitors to ultrasound to IV and shots all night, and I already took a nap from about 10:30am to 2:15pm but I'm STILL tired! Thankfully I'm home and they fed me before I left a really big and actually decent breakfast!

Go figure all this happens amidst me being nervous about her deciding to come earlier than the adoptive family was intending to fly into town.... I'm going to fight this UTI with a loooot of water and the meds they gave me in hopes that LO will wait until after the 20th of July when the adoptive family is scheduled to be here... It will really break my heart to birth her before they get here because more than anything I want the mom to cut the cord and be there for this!

Wish me luck!

  • Wow, what a night you had!  Praying that baby stays put for a little longer.  Hang in there!

(and FYI, I think it's totally cool that you really want the adoptive family there)

  • I hope you are feeling better and the baby gets to cook longer.

I think it is great that you want the adoptive family there with you.

  • Wow, what an experience!  I will say a prayer that your delivery goes exactly as you want it to!  Tell that little girl to hang tight!!
