This may be a stupid question and completely obvious, except to me, but why is that when you get an u/s when you are not pregnant you have to drink a ton of water, but when you are pregnant you do not?

Re: U/S Question - (May be stupid)
I asked this too and this is what they told me:
When you get an u/s early in pregnancy and when you aren't pregnant you have to have a full bladder because they use that as a "starting point"--they know where everything inside of your stomach is in relation to your bladder. When the uterus and baby start to get bigger, it's obvious where everything is (uterus, placenta, umb. cord, baby, etc) so they don't need the full bladder to help them, in fact it just gets in the way.
I have no medical background, this is just what they told me.
HTH.
This. It's basically to see where your bladder is.
