Is there a safe way to elevate crib mattress?

He is not in his crib yet but he hates sleeping flat on his back, and I dont want anything in his crib, I was wondering if they sell something to go underneath the mattress to lift it up or if that is eve safe?

  • roll up a beach towel or two and place it under the mattress ~ no need to purchase a contraption for something you can safely rig up yourself!

  • Does your crib have adjustable settings so that the mattress is higher/lower in comparison to the sides?  Or are you wanting it even higher than it goes...?

I  have this... it goes under the sheet and is stiff like the mattress.  https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2401848

  • We have to elevate DSs mattress on one side because of his reflux.  Our pedi said they make a wedge that you can place under the mattress, but he suggested we save our money and use a couple phone books under the matress.

  • I'm so glad you posted this.. I was just picking my DS up from screaming after him laying in his crib for a whole minute. I keep trying everyday but he hates laying flat on his back.
