For those bathing in the regular tub

Meaning, no longer using those infant tubs, do you use a seat or anything in there.  DD sits great on her own, even in the tub, loves to splash and play with her toys.  All is well till it comes time to rinse her hair....and then she flails everywhere.  It takes 2 of us at all times.  Just wondering what others do.  TIA!

  • I just fill the tub up a tiny bit and lay him down in it. He's fine.

  • I sit her between my legs and she plays with her bath toys while I wash her off.  I wash her hair first, but she doesn't really flail around or anything, she just sits and plays with the toys.  I just try to keep a grip on her with my legs when I am washing her...sorry, probably not much help, but that's what I do
  • We do bath time two different ways. I either take a bath with him or we put him in tub on a mat.  The water is shallow and we do let him play and splash around.  he loves it.  the mat keeps him from moving around like crazy.  DS is use to the water, he goes in our hot tub all the time and loves the water (the temp is low).

  • We use a seat that attaches to the side of the tub.  Love it!
  • I put a towel down and fill it up her ears.  She goes nuts in there.  She shoots all around from one end of the tub to the other.  She splashes and kicks. We call her baby Michael (Phelps).

This. DH can lean over the side of the tub and wash him. I have to get in the tub with him. He splashes like crazy.

  • I just got the Munchkin Duck Tub and it's awesome! DD loves to sit and splash around but I don't have to worry about her hitting her head or anything. Then when I rinse her (we had the same problem of her flailing around) she just sits there or leans against the side of the duck. It's inflatable so very soft and it's a very small space so maybe she feels more secure and "held." But she doesn't flail when she's in it and I have both hands free to rinse her with.

  • We only put a little water in the tub and lay her on her back, she likes to roll from belly to back and rinse her while she is laying on her back.
  • I put a bath towel on the floor of the tub for her to sit on and keep her butt warm.  I take the handheld shower off the holder and have it dangling in fron of her so she constantly has warm water on her.  Then I just soap her up and wash her hair.  I take the handheld and rise her off.  Super quick and easy...she loves it too

  • We have the same issues. Honestly, I just tell him, Okay, mama's gotta wash your hair and I fill up my rinsing "cup" and pour the water over his head. He fusses for a second, I dry his face, hand him a toy, and say "one more time" and I do it again. He hates it, but he gets over it.

I bath with him, but after reading these responses, I might try letting him in there with just a bit of water and see what he does!
  • This. Or he takes a shower w/ Dad or I for a quick rinse if he's had a messy eating day.

we take turns in the tub with him. We have a large garden tub and one fo us holds or plays with him while the other one washes him.
