1 yr old and Mega Blocks

I have some gift cards from LO's birthday, I think hes in need of some updates to age appropriate toys...anyone's 1 year old interested in these?  Its so hard to judge what he will like or not ...TIA!

DS enjoys them.  He's getting good at putting them together. He'll sit there with 3 or 4 blocks and stick them all together, then pull them apart, then put them back together....so on and so forth.   Although they have been a source of frustration and tantrums too when he can't get it right.  Those are getting less frequent though as he gets better at it.

DS was closer to 18 months before he really liked Mega Blocks.  I think they'd be a great investment though.  He still loves them.

at 1 my son liked to tear down what we built.

At 16 months he actually started building with me!

Now at 18 months he loves to play with them by himself!

I would say get them! They are awesome!

DD has these and likes them a lot.  She doesn't stack them yet (DH and I do ) but she loves to put them back in the bag.  Once we stack them, she loves to unstick them and put them away   I love my little cleaner!

At 12 months, DS wasn't into them. He'd watch us build them and he'd clack them together but not much more than that. Within the past couple months, he's gotten really good at building and enjoys playing with them. I'd still go ahead and get them though!

We got DS some Mega Bloks for his bday last year, and he still loves them.

My DS loves them! I will build something with them and he loves to knock it down.

my girls like to take apart what we build...and bang them together...I am sure as they get older they will put them together and build things...remember bristle blocks?  my parents said those kept us busy for hours when we were little....

I think Duplos have more add-ons and may transition better as they get older.

My boys got Mega Bloks and Duplos for Christmas a few weeks before they turned 1. They loved both! They've definitely grown into them a bit (they can now put them together and take them apart) but even at that age they had some fun with them.

DS loves them. He also has the wagon & he likes to put the blocks in there & dump them out.

For sure! She started taking interest in them around that age or maybe slightly earlier. Now, she is all about them and builds towers. I think they are great!
