So I come back from my S. Fl vacation and decide to use the glider and put LO to sleep. I leaned back to give her a good 'swing' and flew back (with baby in arms).
Baby is ok. I held on to her tight and let the back of my head take the hit. My buddy tells me the same thing happened to her glider. She owns the same exact one. I purchased it off of Craigslist and started feeling guilty about buying a used glider. My friend says hers was brand new and did the same thing so it helped with a bit of the mommy guilt.
Pardon the mess :
I heard that there are a couple of gliders that that has happened to, unfortunately. I heard they were the cheaper ones available from Walmart, etc. so I found a great Dutailier on CL for a reasonable price.
Holy good God!!! I'm glad you both are ok! That would scare me to death.
We have the traditional rocking chair in Buggie's room. I love it, but DH says it's too small (he's sorta a bigger guy). I got it off Craiglist for 40 bucks.
Re: Has this happened to your glider? PIP
Mine is about to do this. There is a major crack in the back. I plan to do some repairs to it this weekend.
Ours was brand new at $300 so don't feel bad about buying from craigslist.
I thought it was hilarious afterwards but LO was upset for a few minutes. She thought I had hit/shook her.
Maybe ours had this too? Def be careful because you can take a nasty hit when it finally breaks.
yikes!! glad you are ok....if this happened to me i don't know what i would have done!
and even if you bought it on craigslist, i would still try to contact whoever makes it--that is crazy!
I'm glad you are BOTH okay!
