How do you clean the kiddie pool?

We have a hard plastic pool and it sat out and had nasty water in it. It's a nice one, so I don't just want to throw it away. How can I clean it?

Soap and water?
Bleach? (if yes, how long after I use bleach can he play in it?)
Something else?

  • My H used Dish Soap last time to clean our Inflatable pool. Not sure if he used a sponge (from washing the cars) or a brush but it worked.

  • I used a Clorox wipe on ours. Just wiped it down than let it dry for a little bit. Than I rinsed it so she wasn't playing in any chemicals.

  • I would say clorox wipes and rinse well or just dish soap and hot water...thats what I used to clean our inflatable pool last summer

  • A sponge with a scratchy side, soft scrub with bleach, and a hose.  It works wonders.  I'm a big yard saler and this is how I clean all plastic toys.  It take a little elbow grease, but it will look new when you're done.

  • A scrubbie sponge and some antibacterial dish soap or all-purpose cleaner.  If it was really nasty I would rinse with some diluted bleach water.  Let it dry in the sun for a while and just give it a good rinse of clean water before filling it again.
