MIL made the worst spaghetti last night. How you can mess up sauce from a jar I do not know. She served it with over cooked noodles, burnt garlic bread, and undercooked meat in it. This was after I requested she not make hamburger helper. So gross.
I seriously hate visiting MIL. I think I will volunteer to do all the cooking while I'm here from now on. Her pantry is filled with junk food and I am on a freaking diet. There isn't one fresh vegetable or fruit in the entire effing house. I want to scream!!! When I insisted on making a salad last night to go with her horrible spaghetti dinner she acted like I was speaking a forieghn language. She ate three pieces of lettuce. And said, I kid you not "Oh I bet my body could use something green. I never eat vegetables."
Oh and this is after she decided to critique me for giving LO puffs saying I was feeding her nothing but air.
DH grew up like this. No wonder I can't get the man to eat a vegetable. He like a little kid! I have to hide all the healthy stuff inside of pasta dishes for him. UGGGGG!!!!!!! I am making DH take me to the grocery store today so I can pick up some real food. I can't take this sh!!t any longer.
Re: I want to effing scream.
i bet you would really benfit from this book when cooking for your MIL...

GL, that would drive me crazy too!
It is her house. She can cook anything she wants. I would have just nibbled on what she served and then went home and ate. It is none of your concern what crap she has in HER pantry. Just my opinion.
Not 100% sure but by the sound of the post she is staying at MIL's. Maybe visiting from out of town. Not sure but thats what I got from the post in which case you can't go home and eat.
OP- I cannot stand to eat at the inlaws. They make the most horrific steak ever. I secretly feed it to DH when they aren't watching because I can't even choke it down. I completely understand where your coming from. If I had to stay with them ever I'd probably lose 10 lbs because I wouldn't eat.
Geez, sounds like visiting my grandma... I did all the cooking when we visited her, and she wasn't allowed to cook when she lived with us.
I'm glad I don't have this problem with my IL's... I actually eat BETTER when I go over there. My MIL gives me sooooooo much food, and it's all home-cooked very well (her brothers are both chefs... she knows how to cook)... problem is when I can't eat a lot, and I'm staring at this massive plate of food.... *sigh*
