Less formula after solids?

Since about a week after we started solids, I've noticed that B doesnt always finish her bottles.

Some days she does, but yesterday she only drank 4oz out of 8 from her morning bottle, and then her 6:30pm bottle she left about 3oz in it. She went to bed fine and woke up fine, wasnt even hungry yet. So I warmed up her bottle and daycare gave it to her when we I dropped her off. She does have about 3.5 oz of veggies and oatmeal mixed together at 5:30, but I would think after not eating for 12 hours she'd be starving! I'm not really worried, shes still getting anywhere from 25 to 32 oz of formula a day. Just wondering if anyone elses baby has been doing this too. Thanks!

Re: Less formula after solids?

  • Yes, Leighton has recently started this as well.  Some bottles she will drink all of but some she will only take 4 or so ounces out of.   I assume it's because of the solids because it just started when I started feeding her more solids during the day.  But, she doesn't act like she's hungry any sooner, she is going about 4 hours now between bottles instead of 3.

  • Allie still eats the same, but at around 6 months she started eating much less in the morning, only 3-4 ounces, even though she sleeps 12 hours straight.  I know you're supposed to give solids after a bottle, not before, but Allie only eats 32-34 ounces too and she's a big girl!  (20lbs and 28.5 inches)
  • Yep, very normal!  I nurse but she dropped a daily sesson when she started on solid.  She takes 6oz bottles when I'm at work so I'm assuming she's getting 25-30 oz daily.  And she's a big girl so I'm not worried about it!
