need some advice- leaking diapers at night

My DD has decided that she now likes to sleep on her stomach. It's wonderful because she hardly wakes up at all anymore at night and she's sleeping deeper. Our only problem is that she is leaking out of the front of her diaper almost every night. Is there a diaper that worked for others and stopped the leaking? Diapers are so expensive I don't want to start buying ones I don't like. TIA

  • Surprisingly, we've had great luck with Luvs when we use sposies.  I was skeptical and we CD a lot, but I just bought some Luvs on a whim (mostly because I was being to cheap to buy Pampers or Huggies) . . . and we LOVE them!

  • maybe go up a size for nighttime diapers. i use huggies overnights because DS was waking up with his PJS wet a few times a week. they are 10 a pack but huggies sends out alot of coupons!

  • We huggies too. They have worked well for us but now that DS is getting to be between sizes they are starting to leak if he sleeps longer than normal.

  • we use Huggies Overnights... I also find that we need to make the jump up to another size when he starts leaking.

  • We havent had any issues with Pampers and DD is a tummy sleeper. Also the Sam's Club Members Mark brand have been great. DD is however filling them to capacity so I'm about to switch to overnights. DD usually only wears a sposie at night, so for naps we've never had an issue with her FuzziBunz. Another issue maybe that you're not closing them tight enough. I had some issues with that a while ago when DD was still a back sleeper and I wasn't pulling them up high enough or closing them tight enough and we were getting a lot of back blowouts.

  • I also agree!  Huggies overnights one size bigger then you would use during the day.  DS sleeps 12-12&1/2 hours and 90% of the time there is no leak.  Every now and again there is still a leak but that could be not putting it on tight enough.

We put his diaper on really tight.   I read somewhere that overnight their bellies become smaller like a half inch or inch (I forget how much).  So you really need to put it on snug at night.

  • I'll have to try huggies overnights. I had to move DD up to size 4 diapers because she is very long and was having blowout over the back of her diapers (Pampers Baby Dry.) I think she would be swimming in a size 5 diaper.
  • We use Huggies Overnights in his normal size.  Occasionally they'll still leak, but that's mostly if he sleeps in.

  • Try huggies overnites. They work for us.
  • We use Huggies Overnights in size 4 - looks like our LO's are same age... he mostly stays dry, but has an occasional leak. A mom friend suggested Huggies Overnight Pull-Ups work even better than regular Huggies Overnights Diapers - I tried them for 2 nights and so far, so good. I bought the smallest size, 2T-3T and they seems to fit similar to the size 4, maybe a touch roomier.

  • Ugh...  I asked this question the other day.  I have tried everything mentioned and nothing has worked.  Last night he soaked his diaper so much that those little crystals from inside the diaper were all over his tummy.  Good luck!

  • Fisher Price also makes an overnight which I have been using and then Iput a regular Pampers over that to hold everything in.....has been working well!
  • I've never had this problem and we use Luvs- she is 8 months.
  • i just went up a size and it works. she looks silly b/c the diaper is half way up her chest but hey! no pee on the sheets works for me!
