Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Bath Question

When giving LO a bath we rinse her hair using a cup.  It is hard to avoid her eyes when pouring. She will scream if you get by her eyes.  Anyone have suggestions.  Will a hand shower work better?

Re: Bath Question

  • I saw something at the Baby Depot the other day.  It was like a flattened cup w/ a rubber side.  You put the rubber side against the baby/child's head to pour.  I guess it keeps the water off their face.

I use a cup like you.  Now, Buggie sits up and plays in her tub.  When I need to rinse her, I lean her back in her whale tub to pour the water.  It works ok, but I still get some on her face.

  • I wring out a wet washcloth to rinse Nate's hair, and just sort of sweep the water back from his face as I rinse. Some soap still gets near his face but the shampoo is really gentle so it doesn't seem to bother him.  I've also seen these visor hats you can get that will keep the water out of his face.

This is what we do too. It keeps him from getting angry for the most part.
