Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Things you wish you would have done differently

What is something you wish you would have done differently in with LO and/or life in general?

While I love having DS and couldn't imagine my life without him, I wish I had been married before I got pregnant.  I always used to look down on people who got pregnant before they were married... now I have no room to talk.  I think having a baby has made me A LOT less judgmental though.

  • I wish I would have finished college.  That being said..I have no regrets, I'm so happy with my life right now. I make pretty ok money for what I do & being 29 years old,  It's just scary to think I will be in the same job where I can't advance.  I can always go back, but it's not happening anytime soon.

  • I wish I could have transitioned LO out of our bed earlier.  I feel like a STTN failure since I can't let her CIO.  I haven't slept for more than 2 hours at a time since Oct.

I wish I would have snuggled my LO more when she was a newborn. I was worried too much about spoiling her and setting up bad habits. Now she is far to active to snuggle :(

  • I broke my ankle 3 days before my due date and was unable to walk for 3 months. I wish I could go back in time. My maternity leave was a nightmare. I wish I could have done the simple things with my son...walk him around the nursery when he was fussy at night, take him for a stroll in the neighborhood...you name it. I was isolated to a couch with my foot elevated.

I wish I'd bought a four-door car instead of a coupe back in 2003, but oh well.

Sort of me too: I wish I bought a bigger SUV in 2004.  The escape is packed to the brim when we head to my mom's house with the baby and the dog (a lab/mastiff mix), and all our stuff.

  • I wish i would have enjoyed the moment more when she was a baby instead of just thinking about how tired i  was.  I really do miss it and i miss cuddling her.  Shes not a cuddler at all now =(

  • It's hard to say, because so many of the "bad" things that happened to me, or bad decisions I've made, have actually led me to good things. That being said, I wish I'd learned how to control my anxiety earlier in life. I'm still working on it, but it's caused me lots of health problems.

As far as pregnancy goes, it would be the same thing, because I stressed about a lot of stuff. I regret buying a nursery set because we don't use the comforter, but we're thinking about hanging it on the wall.

  • I wish I would have never signed up for a credit card or student loans.  I am in so much debt and have no idea how to get out of it

Oh my gosh, that SUCKS!! I am so sorry to hear that. That was my biggest fear before my wedding and before having a baby!

My regret is not traveling abroad in college. I wish I'd gone to Europe when I had the chance; I feel now like I'll be well into middle age before I get there. Oh well.
